Art Therapy in Nolensville: Office Tour

Starting art therapy, or any mental health care for that matter, can feel intimidating. You’re going to a new office, seeing a new person, and talking about very personal things. The images and descriptions below are intended to give you a glimpse into what to expect when visiting my art therapy office in Nolensville, TN. Please reach out with any questions!

Art Therapy Office Exterior

You’ll enter through these doors to get inside. There is plenty of parking very close to the entrance. Inside, you’ll walk right into the waiting area. My office is conveniently located on the first floor.

Art Therapy Waiting Area

Waiting Area

When you arrive to the office, you’ll find this quiet waiting area. This space is for you to relax while waiting for your appointment time. At the start of you session, I will come to the waiting area to invite you to my art therapy space.

If you need to use the restroom while waiting, restrooms and a water fountain are located down the hallway, toward the back of the building.

Art Therapy Office Seating

Cozy Seating for Talk Therapy

Inside my art therapy office, a loveseat and cozy armchair give you space to get comfortable for our session. Pillows and a blanket are available, as I want my clients to be able to feel as supported as possible. On the side table, you’ll find a basket of fidgets and other sensory items.

You can also see the art therapy table near the window!

Art Therapy Office Tea Station

Tea and Water Station

Inside my office, I keep tea bags and sugar stocked, as well as mugs, spoons, and cups for water. I am happy to make you a cup of tea or get you a glass of water!

Art Therapy Table and Supplies

Art Therapy Table and Supplies

For art therapy exercises, I have a variety of art materials. Drawing supplies include oil pastels, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, and colored pencils. Painting supplies includes watercolor paint, acrylic paint, tempura paint, brushes, and a water cup. I also keep canvas board and watercolor paper available. Collage supplies include magazines, pre-cut images and words, scissors, glue, and tape.

Art Therapy Office Confidentiality

Window with Privacy Film

This window area might be one of my favorite parts of the office. The privacy film provides confidentiality while allowing us to enjoy the natural light. It also helps regulate the temperature of the office!

On the window ledge, you’ll find a few plants (I’m learning how to keep them alive!), some card decks for journaling and conversation, and a container of kinetic sand. I still can’t get over the incredible bench-shaped business card holder I found. Oh, and we can’t forget the classic emotions wheel!
